Prior to Our Arrival... We ask that you remove all fine breakables from tabletops, fireplace mantels, and any other surfaces where they could be knocked down. If you have any irreplaceable items or fine art, it would be best to take whatever precautions are necessary to insure their safety. If you would like your closets retextured, please clean off the top shelf of the closet. It would be best if owners, children and pets stay outside of the work area.
Work Begins... The crew will organize your furniture against the walls, leaving the center of the room open. Any furniture that cannot be moved will be covered with plastic. Plastic will be laid on the floor to protect your carpets. They will need twelve inches clearance from the ceiling from which to hang plastic to shield your walls. This isolation technique insures a clean and virtually dust-free environment. The room will resemble a large bag. Your ceiling will be lightly sprayed with water to help with the removal of the existing acoustic and to control dust. The men will remove the acoustic throughout the entire home. We will perform routine repairs at no extra cost (water spots, minor re-taping of joints). Your ceiling is now ready for the new texture. All of the products we use are all water-soluble. The new texture is usually applied with a hand trowel. In some cases, it will need to be sprayed on. No matter which texture you decide upon, it will take 48 hours to dry. After 48 hours, you can have it painted. About Painting... We recommend that your painter use a primer as a first coat. The primer acts as a protectant to the underlying drywall. The primer also is a base coat which is necessary for a consistent, high quality finished product. The second coat is the ceiling paint which is much thinner than the primer.
